Worldwide Offshore Services Sdn Bhd (WOS) is PETRONAS’ licensed human resource solutions provider recruiting talented candidates to work on their upcoming project based in Sabah and Sarawak. HSE Manager is one of the collective positions required for the PETRONAS project.
About the Role:
HSE Manager will be a part of the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Department who oversees various areas of the project and liaise with different departments to ensure every account is being taken into consideration before, during and post operations.
Job Description:
- Oversee all HSE operations and implementation, including:
- Review and approve HSE documents from Contractors (HSE Plan, ERP, PTW Procedures, etc) and excavation checklist for specific working conditions such as inside trenches and/or confined space;
- Review Subcontractors’ Construction Method Statements, Job Hazards Analysis and other required documents together with SPM and QAQC Manager;
- Participate in regular meetings with team members and other relevant parties;
- Coordinate HSE activities such as Project Risk Assessment, Risk Workshop, and Hazards and Effect Register; and
- Gatekeeper for all site works and activities to ensure they meet the requirements of Local Authority and other regulatory agencies, Sabah and Sarawak local authorities and relevant agencies.
- Actively update all project legal registers and oversee any incident investigation when it is required of them to do so.
- Focal person to consult with SPM and Contractors on HSE Plan and HSE Implementation Plan to ensure there is no compromisation to occur for the HSE personnel at sites or the standards in place by PETRONAS.
- Manage a proper filing system of all HSE documents and records (HSE statistics, KPIs performance status, incident report, HiPO incident, UAUC, investigation report, etc), including the review of Contractors’ documents like the HSE Plan, ERP, PTW Procedures and any construction related documents.
Candidate Requirements:
- Degree in Engineering at a minimum.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of working experience, inclusive of at least five (5) years in the project, of which three (3) years in a civil construction environment.
- High technical and supervisory skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to drive the work and the team.
- Showcase strong leadership to lead the team and oversee operations.
- Strong emotional control and stability under duress and unexpected circumstances.
- Attentive and competent problem-solving skills when working on different types of projects.
- Powerful negotiating skills with clear objectivity when approaching different counter-justifications.
