About the Role:
Geotechnical Specialist will be a part of the Engineering Department that focuses on managing and overseeing execution from other operations to make sure it aligns with the procedures and standards set by PETRONAS.
Job Description:
- Participate as general attendees for relevant meetings, on-the-job-trainings, programs, events, and work scoping during the development of new contracts, participate and perform any technical and/or commercial evaluation of bid proposals and deliver presentations (both technical and non-technical) to relevant stakeholders.
- Participate in all obligated audit exercises (either internal and/or external) and delegate all information accordingly to team members and/or auditors.
- Perform all front-end and pre-engineering studies, including but not limited to assessments, review and interpret soil investigation reports or prescribe the scope of work for engineering/geophysical surveys.
- Be the voice of reason in sourcing necessary meteorological parameters and the potential impact on existing pipelines.
- Execute and review all geotechnical engineering design to ensure it meets Malaysia’s application standards and compliance.
- Perform, review and maintain all geohazard and pipeline integrity assurance requests issued by PETRONAS (SSGP) or other parties. Conduct necessary consultations on the output and proper actions to be taken.
- Perform predictive analytics and reliability-based engineering on necessary applications and integrity assurances from time to time, including but not limited to digital initiatives, geospatial data automation, and defining the Probability of Failure for Geohazard elements.
- Participate and provide active input regarding construction activities, advice, and review on various aspects of risks and job hazards, plus recommendations on installation methods that comply with safety regulations.
Candidate Requirements:
- Certificate in Civil or Technical Engineering at a minimum.
- Minimum of twenty (20) years of experience related to pipeline or civil work construction.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to drive the work and the team.
- Good presentation skills on technical and non-technical matters for various audiences or stakeholders.
- Attentive and competent problem-solving skills when working on different types of projects.
