Worldwide Offshore Services Sdn Bhd (WOS) is PETRONAS’ licensed human resource solutions provider recruiting talented candidates to work on their upcoming project based in Sabah and Sarawak. Cost Estimator is one of the collective positions required for the PETRONAS project.
About the Role:
Cost Estimator will be a part of the Project Management Team (PMT) that involves hands-on operation in costing and verifying all contracts coming through for all projects. They are required to be attentive to the details to validify all particulars pertaining to cost, claims and new works.
Job Description:
- Gatekeeper for cost estimation and verification of all the ongoing contract packages disputed claims, namely SSGP EPCC contracts. This encompassed negotiation with Contractors on any disputed matters related to the scope and cost; and regular project budgeting with required cost updates from the Project Team.
- Observe and oversee monthly progress claims and change orders or work orders verification and finalisation to ensure they are consistent and justified as per Contractors’ work deliveries and performance.
- Source and tender works for any new scope within the SSGP contract.
- Review the overall cost of ACV, AwCV, Change Order cost, Final cost, and Changes Request (CR) submitted by the Contractor and any requests by the Contract Holder (SBA/GTS/PMT) on any new work requirements.
Candidate Requirements:
- Degree in Engineering at a minimum.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of working experience, inclusive of at least five (5) years in the project, of which three (3) years in a civil construction environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to drive the work and the team.
- Strong emotional control and stability under duress and unexpected circumstances.
- Attentive and competent problem-solving skills when working on different types of projects.
- Powerful negotiating skills with clear objectivity when approaching different counter-justifications.
