Worldwide Offshore Services Sdn Bhd (WOS) is PETRONAS’ licensed human resource solutions provider recruiting talented candidates to work on their upcoming project based in Sabah and Sarawak. Construction Manager is one of the collective positions required for the PETRONAS project.
About the Role:
Construction Manager will be a part of the Construction Department that leads the department to ensure that each element of construction projects adheres to the latest and updated standards issued by PETRONAS. This includes resource management and constructional integrity.
Job Description:
- Manage and supervise the construction performance to ensure compliance with project/contract requirements (especially crucial to Safety, Quality, Schedule and Cost). This entails invoice management for all work progress, construction procedures, and resource management, such as personnel at the site, transportation, site camps, communication systems, etc.
- Manage and supervise interfacing works to ensure effective coordination among all contractors and personnel (EPC Contractors’ Construction Team and Engineering & Procurement Team) working within the same project work site and to minimise as much disruption to the operation objectives as possible.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards and statutory requirements with all regulatory approvals received. For cases of non-compliance issues that arise, they must be documented and resolved promptly.
- Ensure that an adequate constructional materials management program is in place for distribution and properly maintained by EPC Contractor and that all constructional design changes are properly reviewed and approved by the engineering side.
Candidate Requirements:
- Degree in Engineering at a minimum.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of working experience, inclusive of at least five (5) years in the project, of which three (3) years in a civil construction environment.
- High technical and supervisory skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to drive the work and the team.
- Showcase strong leadership to lead the team and oversee operations.
- Strong emotional control and stability under duress and unexpected circumstances.
- Attentive and competent problem-solving skills when working on different types of projects.
- Powerful negotiating skills with clear objectivity when approaching different counter-justifications.
